The Art of Sharing

the NB Anglican by Ana Watts

Who are members of the IN group?

I was ordained at age fifty in 1989 to begin ministry in the Parish of Greenwich (now part of the Parish of Nerepis and St. John) where I served for seven years.

The Parish of Chatham blessed me with nine years before I retired in 2005 to return to Quispamsis and my family.

After a short rest I was appointed to half-time in the Parish of Simonds where I stayed for a further two and a half years.

My ministry has been augmented with the help of my wife Betty who has been instrumental, not only as an able assistant but in leading Bible studies, Alpha groups, Marriage Courses and Layreader. We work together as Alpha Advisors in Southern NB, assisting all denominations in running effective courses (having run 25 courses in Miramichi).

I served the Diocese as Deputy Warden of Layreaders, Cursillo Spiritual Advisor, as Member of the Stewardship Committee, Board of Governors of the Atlantic School of Theology, and was on the Board of Anglican Renewal Ministries.

Our two sons, Bob and Peter, both reside in Quispamsis with their respective families. Susan our youngest by fifteen years lives and works in Moncton.  Our two poodles who reside with us take their job seriously a our current children.

We look forward to working in the Parish of Central Kings in a time of change and challenge.  While the current position only affords me Sundays and one day a week I hope to use this time effectively in moving us Godward.

I will be in touch with all the members of the parish in the next few months.

Blessings,

Alan
